Voices of the future: A journey through innovative speech tech
Thanks to all the guest speakers who contributed to the intro to voice technology course
The Intro to Voice Tech course in the MSc Voice Technology is coming to a close. It was something of an unusual course: We tested speech recognition software performance on different languages and environments (imagine students shouting/whispering/mumbling into mics at parties, in busy cafes, in classrooms, and at airports), we also worked on making our own synthetic voices, and had a few lively discussions along way.
The big highlight may have been all the guest speakers we had, giving an overview of Speech Technology at small start-ups, big companies, and in academia. Therefore, a hearty thank you to everyone who gave a presentation, hosted a discussion, or engaged with the students. Many useful collaborations are in the works!
