There's a fully-funded PhD position as part of the “Melodies of the North” research project at the Campus Fryslân - University of Groningen, in collaboration with the Fryske Akademy.

• Frisian language support, variation, and speech technology
• Creating phonetic archives for low-resource languages
• Studying language variation and change
• Developing AI tools
• Engaging with diverse stakeholders

🌟 Key Contributions:
• Pioneering a new digital archive of spoken Frisian
• Describing dialect diversity across the region
• Enhancing understanding and preservation of Frisian
• Promoting linguistic stewardship and community engagement
